This has got to be my favorite time of the year.
When fall begins, everything changes. I take out my decorations and pretty much everything feels so much more special until after Christmas.
This is also my favorite time to teach. I love when everything is themed for the holidays! The students love it even more, trust me. That is what inspired the center sets that I have been working on! I felt like my centers were always so plain. I decided to make some fun activities that were themed for the month and that means October is Halloween!!!
I am so excited for this set! I lovvvvve Halloween stuff. It is just such a fun time for kids and I love seeing the joy that holidays bring to them.
Here is everything you will get with this set:
Your students can practice counting by using counters to match the number on the cards. Students can also practice adding 1 to these numbers with addition cards. Such a fun way to practice number skills!!! I made these even more festive by purchasing spider confetti from walmart (for just 98 cents!).
I always had wikki stix available to my students and it was one of their favorite centers!!! This set will help your kiddos form the letters of the alphabet and some sight words. Need accountability? Cut plain white paper in half and have students lay the sheets on top of the wikki stix. Use a crayon to color all over. This will leave the imprint of their work. This set also has a printer friendly black and white set and a blank set that can be used all year long.
Not only can you use these ten frames to add a festive twist to your lessons, but you can use the number cards included for a fun game. Students can draw a card and use the ten frames to represent the numbers. If you print these in gray-scale, you can save colored ink and pass them out for kids to color their responses instead!
With these pattern sheets, your students will look at the Halloween pictures and complete the pattern with the extra pictures. There is a sheet to for AB patterns, a sheet to for ABB and AAB, and a sheet for ABC patterns to practice.
An all-time class favorite is Write Around the Room. It is such a fun scavenger hunt for the kids. Like I have said before, I would have to make extra copies of the response paper because kiddos would ask me if they could do it again! Halloween and Pumpkin vocabulary is included in this set.
CVC word books are included in this set and will help your kiddos practice reading with the medial A. With fun pictures to color and a chance to build the words while practicing sounds, students will love this activity. This is not Halloween themed so they can be used any time throughout the year!!!
This is another set that can be used all year long. Your kiddos will play the game of memory and match the letter to the beginning sound of the pictures.
This was another favorite game to use in my classroom. All the “sticks” are placed in a cup. Students take turns pulling out a stick and reading the letter (or saying it’s sound for a different variation). If the student gets it correct, he/she gets to keep it. The goal is to have the most when the game ends. If the student gets the BAM stick, he/she must put all their sticks back and start over. It is so much fun! I used this at my table with small groups for informal assessment. I was able to jot down what kiddos needed to work on. In this pack there are, lower case, upper case, and sight word sets.
And there it is! I hope you guys like it and will find it useful in your classrooms! You can buy it HERE!
And don’t for get to pin this to save and share with other teachers!!!!
