This MIGHT just be my favorite post yet. While I am terribly excited to show you my Christmas decor, the pictures fall a little flat. But who cares? It’s Christmas and I lovvvve it.
Last year was our first Christmas in this house and it was a struggle placing everything in new spots. I was very happy with it but come Christmas day, it was a PAIN. Our big Christmas tree was in the office which has three big windows looking out to the front. It looked wonderful. But try cramming everyone in for presents…. yeah it was a mess. So I switched things around this year and I am still not 100% happy with it. I told Kyle we need to move. I am not entirely kidding either!!!! We never planned on staying in this house long so we have the plans to… but that is for a different time.
Let’s get to the decor!
Our tree is now in our living room which also happens to be small. (insert eye roll)
My favorite thing on our shelves is the nativity set. My parents have had this FOREVERRRRR. Joseph is even missing because my brother broke him when he was, like, 2. Last year my mom gave it to me and I was so excited! I had been looking for one that looked similar. It is just one of those things that means Christmas.
Our stockings are a hodge-podge of whatever I happened to buy when we needed a stocking. When our little family is complete I have plans to get a gorgeous matching set. Until then mismatched is the way to go.
I love our table. It is very skinny so I have a very long but skinny milk crate I found at Kirklands. I take out the milk jars and fill it with fun seasonal stuff! And my chalkboard sign fits perfectly in it. I LOVE changing the quotes on this sign!
If you can’t tell, I love glitter. If it is a glittery Christmas decoration, I probably own it. My husband was able to get us under-cabinet lighting that can change color using a remote. I LOVE changing them to go with the holidays!
My snowman table is located in our entry way. I love snowmen! Also, that Santa used to be my parent’s too! My parents decided to completely revamp their Christmas decor last year so they let me pick anything I wanted to keep. This Santa was just another one of those things I loved like the nativity set.
Of course I had to add a little extra cheer to my laundry room…. I like to think it makes doing laundry a little more fun.
I even added a little cheer in our room. My husband thinks I am crazy.
And this is Lacey’s room. She absolutely loves her tree. Every morning she yells and points at it. Then softly touches the branches and calls it “baby.” It is pretty much the cutest thing ever.
Where our tree was last year is where our tiny skinny tree is this year. It is the tree Kyle and I bought for our first Christmas together. It is so skinny and ugly but I can’t get rid of it!! Under it is a Mickey Mouse village where Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto pop out of the doors and sing carols. My parents bought it when I was really young and I always loved it. I got it last year as well too! My Mickey and Minnie loving daughter loves to watch them. If we are in the living room she grabs our hand and drags us in here to sit and watch them… over…and over… and over… and over lol
This is my little corner of the house. I do all of my work here. A Christmas candle, some more glitter, and a cup of hot coffee makes early mornings so much better.
And of course this little nugget loves to decorate her felt trees I have around the house. I am starting her young!!!
I have dreams that our next house will have so much storage that I can have enough holiday decor to cover every inch of our house. A girl can dream! Now I am off to look at everyone else’s decor and make a list of things I have to do next year. Yikes!
